Paul began his career as a trainee reporter at The Guardian. In 13 years at the paper he worked in features, sport, on the nascent online operation and as a general reporter in the newsroom, before becoming Sports Correspondent in 2003 covering sports news.
In 2008 he joined the Daily Telegraph as Chief Sports Reporter with a similar brief, covering the build-up to the London 2012 Olympics and the Games themselves.
In 2013 he joined Sky News as Sports Correspondent and was named Broadcast Journalist of the year for 2016 by the Sports Journalists Association. In 2017 he was appointed Health Correspondent.
