E-mentoring for year 12 students
We are delighted to announce a new mentoring partnership with Brightside – where we will work with 30 students from deprived backgrounds across the country. Our first scheme started in September 2018.
Brightside is the UK’s biggest online mentoring organisation that supports 10,000 young people every year from disadvantaged backgrounds and connects them with mentors from a wide range of industries and universities that they might otherwise never encounter. The John Schofield Trust wishes to tackle social mobility within the UK’s newsrooms and to do this effectively, we need to identify and nurture journalistic talent at a younger age. Through this partnership with Brightside, our aim is to nurture the skills and ambitions of the young people we work with and provide practical advice and emotional support to help them fulfil their potential.
