Karine Mayer

Karine Mayer started her career as a producer for Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo, where her seven languages helped in covering Europe and Africa from the revolt at the White House in Moscow under Yeltsin to long form documentaries.
As a freelancer Karine covered many sporting events from World Cups, Formula 1 to the death of a national hero - Ayrton Senna - as well as 9/11 in New York.

Following a short stint at Reuters News Agency she joined Sky News working on both production and output as well as extensively in the field around the world. Karine set up and ran the Sky News Rio Bureau and rejoined the foreign desk as a senior news editor where 2015 kept her permanently on her toes with a range of attacks, migration and natural disasters.
